The Briton was delighted upon arrival in Martinique with third place in For the Planet alongside Antoine Koch.

Even if he failed at the foot of the second step of the podium in the Imoca category on Sunday morning behind Paprec Arkéa of Yoann Richomme and Yann Eliès for only nine minutes, Sam Goodchild (with Antoine Koch) was a happy man on the pontoon of arrival.
“It’s a nice birthday present. almost a hold-up. If we had been told that we would be third at the start, we would have signed in advance. This is a third place as a team. The collective that we set up with Thomas shows the strength of that», commented the sailor who celebrated his thirty-three years in the best possible way.

“It was enriching. We learned a lot of things and we don’t sail at the end like we did at the beginning. We also had two or three small technical glitches which challenged us and which we managed to resolve.», added the Briton who is part of the same offshore racing team as winner Thomas Ruyant (with Morgan Lagravière), TR Racing.
