Ivory Coast: Sébastien Haller back after his cancer, first for Jonathan Bamba

The Ivorian center-forward Sébastien Haller, after several months of absence due to a testicular cancerhas been called up by Jean-Louis Gasset for the next two matches of the Elephants against the Comoros, in group H of the qualifications for the 2023 African Cup of Nations, according to the list published this Wednesday on the website of the Federation.
The 28-year-old striker, who arrived at Borussia Dortmund in July, had only participated in a few training sessions before he was diagnosed with cancer, days after signing. Operated twice, he underwent four cycles of chemotherapy before resuming training in January, competition on January 22, and finding the net on February 4 against Fribourg. He is back on the international scene.
Jonathan Bamba, first
The other lesson from the list lies in the presence of Lille’s Jonathan Bamba, a former French international in the youth selections. A first.
