Jonathan Sexton equals the points record in the Six Nations Championship

At 37, Jonathan Sexton has equaled a weight record. By passing a penalty goal and two conversions this Sunday at Murrayfield against Scotland (7-22 victory), the fly-half joined Ronan O’Gara at the top of the Six Nations Championship points scoring charts. Against France, at the start of the Tournament, he had already passed another legend, the Englishman Jonny Wilkinson (546 points). Sexton will have the opportunity to pass O’Gara next weekend when England host.

The first Frenchman in this ranking of the best scorers appears in 14th place. This is Dimitri Yachvili (217 points).

In addition, Sexton is the player who has undergone the most transformations in the competition.

Sexton has now scored as many penalty goals in the Tournament as Wilkinson (105). Only Ronan O’Gara has passed more (109).

Finally, Sexton is now the seventh player to have played the most matches in the Six Nations Tournament, a respectable distance from Sergio Parisse.
