Kimi Räikkönen will make his return to Nascar

The 2007 Formula 1 world champion Kimi Räikkönen will again drive in Nascar with the Trackhouse Racing team. On August 21, the Finn had already taken the wheel on the circuit of Watkins Glen in New York State. In three weeks, on March 26 to be precise, the 43-year-old driver will once again be driving the No. 91 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 on a track he knows well, that of Austin, Texas.
In 2018, the former Ferrari driver won on the Circuit of the Americas ahead of Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. Five years later, he will drive again on this track and for the second time in Nascar. Raikkonen also looked back on his first stint in the discipline which had seen him climb to eighth place thanks to pit stops before being involved in an accident where he injured his wrist.
“I had a fantastic time in Nascarsaid Raikkonen. There was a lot to learn in a very short time, but everyone helped me a lot, the competition was a big challenge. » The 2007 world champion is now focused on this new challenge: “ This time I’ll be able to race on a familiar track, so I won’t have to learn as much. I want to have fun, but also perform as well as possible. »
