The rain, which has been in effect throughout the city since yesterday and was replaced by snow for a short time in the morning, and the accompanying strong wind brought with it some negativities.

While trees fell in some parts of the city due to the storm, a landslide occurred at around 09.30 in Yunus Emre Park on Urfa Street in Eyüpsultan Güzeltepe District.

The soil in a part of the park slid into the construction area at the bottom with a great noise. Eyüpsultan Municipality police teams came to the scene upon notice and the construction and children’s parks were closed by a security strip.

While there were no deaths or injuries in the landslide, a part of the park and the stairs on the side were damaged. It will be clear after the investigation by Eyüpsultan Municipality teams whether the landslide damaged the floors of the buildings around the park.

Salim Yıldız: “There was a house here, but it was demolished within the scope of urban transformation. The excavation was completed a week ago. It was destroyed tonight too. “There were no deaths or injuries in the incident,” he said. (DHA)
