Laval hung by Grenoble but still leader


The Mayennais conceded a draw this Saturday against Grenoble (1-1). But are still leaders.

Laval retained first place in the Ligue 2 championship despite its home draw against Grenoble (1-1) on Saturday, the day the death of its emblematic former coach Michel Le Milinaire was announced at the age of 92.

The Mayennais equalized through Anthony Goncalves in the 80th minute, Jessy Benet having opened the scoring from the penalty spot for the Grenoblois (59th). Grenoble (4th) comes down from the podium, ped by Auxerre (3rd) who overthrew Quevilly-Rouen (3-2) after being led 2-0.

Garland Gbelle opened the scoring in the 34th minute for the Isérois then the Senegalese Sambou Soumano doubled the score (39th), but the Burgundians ended up winning with goals from Gaëtan Perrin (45th), Malian Line Sinayako ( 54th) and the Japanese Ado Onaiwu (65th).

At the start of the afternoon there was another thunderclap in Bordeaux, the Girondins were beaten 1-0 by Troyes. The Aubois scored the only goal of the match by young striker Alexis Lefebvre (34th). The Bordelais finished the match with ten men after the exclusion of defender Jacques Ekomié (64th), and are now fifteenth with 18 points. They are only one point ahead of Bastia (16th), beaten 1-0 in Caen (12th), and two lengths ahead of Troyes (17th) which is moving away from the red zone.
