“Mask Singer”: Adeline Toniutti and Zaho eliminated, an international star enters the competition

They are complete again. In episode 5 of “Mask Singer”, broadcast this Friday May 12 on TF1, the competition was marked by the return of Michèle Bernier, replaced seven days earlier, to everyone’s surprise, by Laurent Ruquier at the competition investigators table. Alongside her comrades Kev Adams, Jeff Panacloc and Élodie Frégé, the actress has still done everything to guess the identity of each of the celebrities who sing hidden under imposing costumes.

Because, this week, a candidate appeared: the Carnivorous Plant. An English-speaking personality, systematically positioned on waivers. As Christophe Beaugrand in the skin of the Bear last season, she could only earn her place in the competition by eliminating two characters. A challenge met since the Plant conquered the public by first covering “I Ain’t Worried” by OneRepublic then “La Fama” by Rosalía and The Weeknd.

At the judges’ office, opinions on the identity of this participant differed. Élodie Frégé thus evoked the names – rather improbable – of Taylor Swift and Rosalía, when Michèle Bernier was persuaded to face a Frenchwoman seeking to deceive them, like Sonia Rolland or Hélène Ségara. Jeff Panacloc, he was ready to trigger his “golden prono” but held back, not completely sure of the proposed name: that of Tina Arena.

An international kangaroo expected for the quarter-finals

For his part, Kev Adams, first on the trail of Dannii Minogue, finally chose to use his confetti cannon. Not out of conviction, but out of a desire to be the investigator with the most identified personalities. And if the name given to the bailiff has not been revealed, the juror has had confirmation of his prognosis.

The Carnivorous Plant got its sesame for the sequel and it therefore led to the elimination of two characters: the Alien and the Witch. In the first costume, as Jeff Panacloc had already guessed, joined this evening by his comrades, viewers were able to discover the singer Adeline Toniutti, also singing teacher of the “Star Academy” last fall. The very beautiful disguise of the Witch sheltered him another artist, Zaho, identified by all.

Thus, the Medusa, the Camel, the Biche and the Carnivorous Plant will all find themselves in the quarter-finals next week, where they will also face the Husky, qualified automatically at the beginning of May after having had the favor of the public. This sixth evening promises to be rich since a new international star will come to sing out of competition under the astonishing features of the Kangaroo.
