Matthieu Pavon gets his ticket for the US Open

After his participations in 2018 and 2019, Matthieu Pavon will be at the start of the next US Open, scheduled from June 15 to 18, in Los Angeles. For the third time in his career, the 30-year-old won his ticket to the third Major of the season, finishing in the top 7 qualifiers of a tournament organized over 36 holes. This event took place in Surrey, South London on the Walton Heath Golf Course.

Author of a first card of 68 (4 birdies), the winner of the Open de Mont de Marsan in 2018 continued with the same score in the second round. Despite a small scare with a bogey conceded at hole number 18, the Frenchman was able to count on his 5 new birdies to climb to 5th place (-8 total), alongside Jens Dantorp and Alejandro Del Rey.

Ko and Pineau not far from qualifying

This qualifying tournament was dominated by the South African Deon Germishuys (-10 total). The latter is ahead of his compatriot Wilco Nienaber, who shares 2nd place (-9) with the English David Horsey and Ross Fisher. Among the other tricolor representatives involved, Jeong weon Ko and Pierre Pineau did not go far from also winning their ticket. The two Frenchmen finally failed in 12th place (-6 total).

Romain Wattel takes 24th position (-4 total) while Julien Brun ranks 36th (-2). For their part, Jöel Stalter, Antoine Rozner, Adrien Saddier and Clément Sordet did not complete the 36 holes.
