“WE NEVER REJECTED NEGOTIATIONS”

Putin responded to the question regarding the West’s claims that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un’s visit to Russia provoked tension in the region and that Russia wanted North Korea to send volunteers to participate in a “special operation”:

A few days ago, I said that our men and soldiers signed 270 thousand contracts with the Russian Armed Forces, but this was old data. “They reported that this morning, 300 thousand contracts were signed with people who are ready to sacrifice their lives for the interests of their homeland, to defend the interests of Russia.”
Putin underlined that North Korea is Russia’s neighbor and that good neighborly relations should be established with neighbors and said, “Yes, there are some characteristics about the Korean Peninsula. “We are discussing it, we are discussing it openly, we are not violating anything and in this case we will not violate anything, but of course we will look for opportunities to improve Russia-North Korea relations.” he said.
