Out injured in the Champions League last week, the goalkeeper of the France team will quickly make his return to the field.
More fear than harm for Mike Maignan. Last Tuesday, the French goalkeeper of AC Milan was injured against Newcastle (0-0) in the Champions League but examinations carried out after the meeting had detected a simple “left thigh flexor strain”. This Monday, it seems that this physical problem is already history for the number 1 in the French team who trained normally with the Milanese group, reports Gazzetta dello Sport.
Back on his feet, the former Lille player should still miss the Rossoneri’s trip to Cagliari this Wednesday (6:30 p.m.) so as not to take any risks and consider a 100% return during the clash against Lazio, Saturday (6 p.m.) at San Siro. Good news for Didier Deschamps who will be able to count, barring any unpleasant surprises, on his goalkeeper during the next meeting of the Blues scheduled for mid-October with two matches on the program, in the Netherlands (the 13th, qualifying for Euro 2024) then against Scotland (17th in a friendly). The French coach’s list will be known next Thursday, October 5, which leaves Maignan a week to dispel all doubts.
