Ministry of Health: hospitals will introduce a mask regime for medical staff as the incidence of ARVI increases


In the event of an increase in the incidence of respiratory infections, hospitals in the affected regions will introduce a mask regime for medical personnel, which is a standard preventive measure, istant Minister of Health of Russia Alexey Kuznetsov told T.

“Based on the epidemiological situation in specific regions, in the event of an increase in incidence – [поручено] introduce a mask regime in medical institutions for medical personnel. This is a common anti-epidemic measure aimed at protecting the health of health workers and patients,” Kuznetsov explained.

He also added that the epidemiological situation in Russia is currently essed as stable, but regions must prepare for a seasonal increase in the incidence of ARVI. The spread of respiratory infections is ociated with a number of factors, including the start of cles in schools, the return of people from vacation, etc., he explained.

Earlier on September 16, it became known that the Government House would introduce a mask regime and other preventive measures due to the spread of influenza and coronavirus. Restrictions may come into effect as early as Monday, September 18th.

Later, Rospotrebnadzor stated that there are no plans to introduce a mask regime in Russia, since there are no serious reasons for this.
