More than 2.5 million Muscovites voted in the capital mayoral elections


Over 2.5 million people have already voted in the Moscow mayoral elections, the Telegram channel of the Public Headquarters for Monitoring Elections in the capital reported.

“More than 2.5 million Muscovites have already taken part in the elections… Polling stations closed today at 20:00 and will open again at 8:00,” the message says.

The headquarters reminded that electronic voting will operate without interruption until 20:00 on Sunday. The Chairman of the Moscow City Election Commission, in turn, expressed confidence that interest in the elections will continue tomorrow, the last day of voting.

Elections for the mayor of Moscow and deputies of 13 municipalities of the TiNAO began on September 8, you can vote until 20:00 Moscow time on September 10. You can vote both at polling stations and online.

Participating in the election of the head of the capital are the current mayor Sergei Sobyanin (from United Russia), vice-speakers of the State Duma Vladislav Davankov (from New People) and Boris Chernyshov (from the LDPR), State Duma deputy, head of the Moscow branch of A Just Russia – For Truth » Dmitry Gusev and Moscow City Duma deputy, grandson of the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Leonid Zyuganov.

Today, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, and his deputies took part in the voting remotely.

A single voting day in Russia is set for September 10. Elections from September 8 to 10 are being held for the first time in new regions – the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. CEC Chairman Ella Pamfilova previously reported that 4,270 election campaigns of various levels are taking place in 85 regions. Elections of regional heads will be held in 21 regions. More than 33,000 seats will be filled.
