To help the victims of the earthquake which hit Morocco during the night from Friday to Saturday, the national team will donate all the bonuses it receives until the next African Cup of Nations.

It was the captain of the Moroccan national team, Romain Saïss, who announced it on social networks. The Lions of the Atlas will come to the aid of the victims of the terrible earthquake which hit the country Friday evening.

“We share your pain and we stand by you. The players and technical staff of the national team will donate all their match bonuses until the African Cup (of Nations), the captain of the selection, Romain Saïss, announced on Instagram. Our hearts are with all the victims.” The next CAN will be held in Ivory Coast, from January 13 to February 11, 2024.

The defender of the Saudi club Al-Shabab also promised “future humanitarian initiatives» from the semi-finalists of the World Cup in Qatar. The members of the selection, like many other athletes since the tragedy, have already resorted to blood donations, such as, for example, PSG player Achraf Hakimi.

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation also announced that the proceeds from the friendly match between Morocco and Burkina Faso, which will take place this Tuesday at the Bollaert stadium in Lens (8:30 p.m.), will be donated to victims of the earthquake.
