As you read these lines, Roots, the violinist’s latest album Nemanja Radulovic – the first at Erato after a decade spent at Deutsche Grammophon – will probably have found its audience. It must be said that this collection of arrangements for traditional violin and air orchestra from around the world draws a delicious portrait of the Franco-Serbian musician, and perhaps even the most personal of his discography. Roots is therefore not yet another confinement album. “During this period when everything stopped, I could not work and play, remembers the violinist. On the other hand, I listened to a lot of music.
