“Everything in Every Place at the Same Time” confirmed the favoritism and was the main winner of this year’s Oscar. The film won seven statuettes, including best picture.
The Hollywood Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the winners of the most important award in the American film industry this Sunday (12).
Directed by the duo Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, the film won seven statuettes. One of the main ones was in the category of best actress, for Michelle Yeoh, the first Asian to receive an Oscar in this category.
Vietnamese Ke Huy Quan won the award for supporting actor and Jamie Lee Curtis took the trophy for best supporting actress. The feature was also awarded for best direction, original screenplay, editing.
In all, “Everything in Every Place” competed for 11 awards. The film was the biggest Best Picture winner since 2008’s Slumdog Millionaire, which took eight Oscars.
The feature was already collecting trophies at the main film awards, such as the SAG Awards.
In the plot, a Chinese immigrant in the United States embittered with her routine is thrown into the multiverse and needs to transit between different versions of herself to save the world.
