our selection of concerts and festivals

THE MORNING LIST
This week, we are presenting a selection of concerts and festivals scheduled for February: an initiative by the Orchester-Atelier Ostinato, which has worked with prisoners and people in precarious situations; a program by the National Orchestra of Lille conducted by Jean-Claude Casadesus; the Bruit festival, which explores the intersections between theater and music; the tour of French death metal band Gojira; blues in all its forms with the traveling festival Les Nuits de l’alligator.
A concert with detainees and refugees

Result of work carried out for ten months by the Orchester-Atelier Ostinato with people detained in the prison of Melun (Seine-et-Marne) or in precarious situations (refugees welcomed by the Secours populaire or by the Jesuit Refugee Service), the program presented under the direction of chef Chloé Dufresne is based on the theme of travel. From Lully (March for the Turks Ceremony) and Rossini (Overture of The Italian in Algiers) to the present day (a creation of clarinettist Emilien Véret), the journey promises to be particularly moving since the beneficiaries of the workshops carried out upstream will appear on the stage of the Maison de la Mutualité, in Paris, among the percussionists of the orchestra or within a choreography designed by Maxime Thomas, dancer at the Opéra national de Paris.
