Peshawar, November 27 At least two people were killed and 10 others were injured in a suicide bomb attack by a faction of the Pakistani Taliban terrorist organization targeting a convoy of security forces in Pakistan’s restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The army’s media wing said on Monday that a two-wheeler laden with explosives hit a convoy of security forces near Azad Mandi in Bannu Cantonment on Sunday. This convoy was going to Bannu from North Waziristan district.

Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement that two civilians were killed in this suicide attack while three security personnel and seven civilians were injured. According to ISPR, the injured have been admitted to the Combined Military Hospital in Bannu and the condition of three security personnel is said to be critical.

Hafiz Gul Bahadur organization of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing. This organization said that the suicide bomber was an Afghan citizen. The suicide attack came after Pakistani security forces killed eight terrorists during an intelligence operation in the province on Sunday, according to the army’s media wing.
