Earlier in May and June, Pakistan had released 398 fishermen. According to the latest data provided by the government in Parliament, a total of 266 fishermen were lodged in Pakistani jails. After this release, about 180 Indian fishermen will still remain in Pakistani jails. All 80 fishermen were caught by the Pakistan Marine Security Agency while fishing in the Arabian Sea in September and November 2020. Among those released are 54 fishermen who were caught on the same day on 15 September 2020. All of them were traveling in nine boats named Rajmoti, Matsyaraj, Devvandana, Rashbihari, Rajmilan, Gangasagar, Divyasagar, Meetsagar and Veer Palghar.
