“Add two letters to Paris, and it’s Paradise. Jules Renard’s sentence gave us the name of our festival. The 5th edition of Paris Paradis takes place from this Friday, September 8 and continues until Sunday 10 in the evening. On the program: nearly 60 artists and dozens of free activities. Here are five good reasons to attend the event.
Stars and revelations in concert
There will be something for everyone on the concert side. Faithful to the spirit of our newspaper which defends great popular artists and young shoots from their beginnings, we offer you a giant mix for young and old. Julien Clerc will come to offer us Saturday evening the very last concert of his tour, with a magnificent show where he performs his greatest hits.
The next day, Kendji Girac will sing for the only time of the year in Paris and therefore in Paris Paradis. Martin Solveig will be there from Friday evening to make the festival dance and, we hope, celebrate the first victory of the XV of France, at the end of the evening, just after Haitian star Joé Dwèt Filé.
As for sensations, do not miss the Kalika tornadoes on Friday and Zaho de Sagazan on Saturday, but also on the same day TikTok Franglish starthe young rapper Le Juiice or even, on Sunday, two rough diamonds of the song, Oete and Coline Rio.
Laughter on a platter
Stand-up, sketches, characters and even a little magic: Saturday and Sunday, it’s all the diversity of tricolor laughter that we will serve you on a platter. Each show will bring together half a dozen artists each playing excerpts of around ten minutes.
On the program this Saturday: Doully, Bun Hay Mean, Waly Dia, Mathieu Madénian, Élodie Poux, Paul de Saint SerninLaurie Peret… And, the next day, again with three trays bringing together pell-mell VerinoPablo Mira, Rosa Bursztein, Morgane CadignanDavid Voinson, Amine Radi, Sebastian Marx, Tristan Lopin…
One-man-shows of fire
New this year: in addition to the comedy sets, two big stars of laughter will come to play their new show in full. It starts with a bang this Friday evening (7:30 p.m.) with “The Eye of the Tiger”, the third opus of Thomas Ngijol. At 44, the former owner of the first season of the Jamel Comedy Club (where he rubbed shoulders with Fabrice Éboué, Blanche Gardin, etc.) recounts in particular his life as the only boy in the midst of five women at home: his companion, the actress Karole Rocher, his two great daughters-in-law, and their two youngest aged 5 and 9. Truculent and spicy to perfection.

The next day, at 7 p.m., Manu Payet will come to present “Emmanuel 2”, his tasty new one-man-showone of the most hilarious shows of this year, nominated for the last Molières.
Free activities for all
Continuously from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. this weekend, the public will be able to enjoy a meditation bar, make-up stands, board games, drawings, Kapla, climbing wall. Table football, ping-pong tables, electric bikes, mölkky will also be freely accessible. There are places left for 9-12 year olds, for the digital cutting workshop and the game space which will make children aware of the risks of digital technology. The teams will have to thwart the pitfalls of the Internet.
Adults can take advantage of tai-chi sessions, chair yoga, mages and naturotherapy conferences, to optimize their energy over 24 hours and compose anti-stress menus. On registration, there is still space. “Cocoon” spaces will be reserved for naps and for mothers breastfeeding their babies. All information can be found here.
An ideal weather
It’s the same story every year. As our festival approaches, we look to the sky. And pray it doesn’t fall on our heads. And, for a few days, we have been reured. No clouds, even less grayness and showers on the horizon. The weather will be nice this weekend in the Parc de la Villette. The sun will be on display from Friday to Sunday.
Even at nightfall, there is no need to bring a big sweater to avoid catching cold. Ideal conditions for enjoying the afternoon activities — we promise, there are shaded corners — and savoring the evening concerts. As for the stand-up shows, they take place anyway, at the Cabaret Sauvage.
