Pensions: transport, fuel, garbage… update on the disruptions this weekend

The mobilization does not weaken this weekend, while the government has chosen to draw the 49.3 to pass pension reform, for lack of the assurance of an absolute majority. Disturbances are still to be expected for this weekend. Disrupted transport, blocked refineries, blockades on the roads… the point on the disturbances planned for this weekend, while the unions plan “local local rallies” this Saturday and Sunday, to continue the dispute.
Transport still disrupted
Of the disturbances are to be noted on certain lines, as the SNCF reminds us: “The circulation of trains continues to improve for this weekend, but will remain disrupted. SNCF Voyageurs is counting on 4 Inoui and Ouigo on 5. The TER trains will still be affected by the strike throughout the country. Count 3 out of 5 trains on average. Similarly, Intercités traffic is still disrupted by strike movements. For this weekend, the SNCF plans 3 trains out of 5 on average. Some night trains will not run.
Relief for Parisian transport: the RATP plans normal traffic for metros, buses and trams for this Saturday. If the traffic is “almost normal” on the RER A, it is “disturbed” on the RER B, announces the Régie des transports.
Refineries still blocked
About 37% of the operational staff of TotalEnergies refineries and depots in France are on strike this Saturday morning, a spokesman for the oil group told Reuters. Objective: to dry out service stations. In Gonfreville-l’Orcher (Seine-Maritime), the strikers threaten to block the refinery, says Eric Sellini, CGT coordinator. “The main units will start shutting down from tomorrow (Saturday)” and “normally the refinery will be shut down this weekend or Monday at the latest”, he warned.

Near Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), the Petroineos refinery where work had resumed on Thursday, is threatened with total shutdown “no later than Monday afternoon”, according to Sébastien Varagnol, CGT delegate. “This weekend, we are preparing for the total shutdown of the installations, which will take place no later than Monday afternoon”.
Until now, the strikers had contented themselves with blocking fuel shipments, but the refineries continued to produce. The Donges (Loire-Atlantique), La Mède (Bouches-du-Rhône) and Fos-sur-Mer (Bouches-du-Rhône) refineries are still on strike.
Electricians and gas workers still on strike
Meeting on Friday, the CGT energy unions decided to “reinforce everywhere” the movement next week and to call for “the renewal of the strike and the maximum disruption of work”, according to Fabrice Coudour, federal secretary of the CGT Energy. Production cuts, targeted cuts and free actions will always be there.
The movement has also hardened a little on the gas side, in the eleven underground gas storage sites in Storengy, the largest of which in Chémery (Loir-et-Cher) was put on hold for the strikers, without consequences for customers, according to management. The three LNG terminals of Elengy, another subsidiary of Engie, are still on strike, unlike that of Dunkirk, operated by the Belgian Fluxys, according to management.
On the electricity side, production cuts continued on Friday (6.260 MW at 4:00 p.m. according to EDF), with no impact on customers but affecting EDF’s finances.
Garbage is still piling up in Paris
In Paris, 10,000 tonnes of trash are still piling up on the sidewalks, according to the town hall. A requisition order from the garbage collectors has been signed by the Paris police headquarters to allow collection, but “no dumpster has come out”, according to the town hall, in the districts where collection is normally carried out by municipal agents.
According to the CGT, 95% of the employees of the Ivry treatment site and 100% of the drivers of the two garages were on strike on Friday. Regarding the garbage collectors, no number of strikers has been communicated from a union source.

Several events are organized this weekend in several French cities, details West France : at 2 p.m. in Nantes (Loire-Atlantique), same time in front of the prefecture of Calvados, in Caen or even in front of the prefecture of Sarthe, in Le Mans.
