Frenchman Lucas Pouille ped the second round of Roland-Garros qualifying on Wednesday. He will play his place in the main draw against the Austrian Jurij Rodionov.

Lucas Pouille beat Taiwanese Chun-Hsin Tseng (215th in the world) 5-7, 6-3, 6-0 on Wednesday in the second round of Roland-Garros qualifying and is only one victory away from a comeback in a Grand Slam main draw. This victory, he will have to get it against the Austrian Jurij Rodionov (134th in the world).

After losing a hung first set, Pouille, with strong support from the public, then clearly got their hands on the game, notably winning seven games in a row, the last seven, to win the match.

At 29, Pouille tries to find his best level after dark years (injuries and depression) which saw him plummet to the depths of the rankings. Ex-N.10 at the ATP, he plays this week as the 670th in the world and has received an invitation to participate in the qualifications of the Major on clay.

Semi-finalist of the 2019 Australian Open, Pouille has not ped the first round of a Grand Slam tournament since his defeat in the second round of the US Open 2019. He has not won a match on the ATP Tour since losing in the second round of the Madrid Masters 1000 in May 2022 and this year he has played so far only on the Challenger Tour where he has won only three matches for four defeats.
