Putin will take part in a single day of voting


Russian President Vladimir Putin’s week will begin with a meeting with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and end with a single voting day. This was reported in the program “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin”, a fragment was published by journalist Pavel Zarubin.

The first talks after Erdogan’s re-election will be held on September 4 in Sochi. As the press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov reported earlier, the presidents intend to discuss, among other things, the issues of resolving the situation in Ukraine and extending the grain deal. Russia withdrew from the grain deal on July 17 because, according to the Kremlin, Russia’s failure to comply with the deal.

In addition, the president is scheduled to participate in a meeting on the development of one of the constituent entities of Russia and a meeting of the Pobeda organizing committee. At the end of the week, Putin will take part in a single voting day (EDV). The format is still unknown, but as Zarubin clarified, earlier the president took part in the online voting format.

This year, the unified voting day in Russia will take place on September 10. Elections from 8 to 10 September will also be held in the annexed regions – the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. Residents will elect deputies to local legislative emblies, which will then hold a vote to elect the heads of subjects. Martial law has been introduced in the new regions that became part of the Russian Federation in the fall of 2022.
