AKP Spokesperson Ömer Çelik criticized the statements made by CHP Istanbul Diyarbakır Deputy Sezgin Tanrıkulu about the Turkish Armed Forces and blamed the main opposition party. While criticizing CHP leader Kılıçdaroğlu, Çelik expressed his opinion that “When the leaders are like this, what the MP says ceases to be a singular thing.”

* “It seems that it is Türkiye that insists on peace. Prisoner exchange and grain corridor stand out. Our President continues to pursue his initiatives. An alternative plan of Russia and Ukraine came into question. We do not want an atmosphere of conflict in the Black Sea. We state that the process should be carried out with two countries under the umbrella of the UN. Both sides have expectations from the West to return to the table. Negotiations should be held through the UN. It is important that the tripartite initiative complements the revival of these.
RELATIONS WITH THE EU
* We are also faced with the developments that emerged after the elections and the relations between the EU and Turkey started to tighten. In this context, the issues of visa liberalization and updating the Customs Union come to the fore.
LATEST SITUATION IN KARABAKH
* The so-called election held in Karabakh has no legitimacy. Just as Azerbaijan rejected it, Türkiye also rejected it. Statements also came from Georgia and the USA. I would like to say that these are valuable. In a way, all of this is done against the Armenian government. Armenia should stay away from such pirated elections. Türkiye undoubtedly supports brother Azerbaijan directly. Raising tensions will not benefit Armenia.
REACTION TO SEZGİN TANRIKULU
* I think that the CHP deputy’s statement of support for terrorism is the result of CHP running a campaign that received the support of terrorist organizations during the election period. It might have been valuable when the CHP Spokesperson came out and said, ‘We do not accept this, we will evaluate it in our authorized boards.’ But there is a precedent to this. Terrorist organizations openly supported Kılıçdaroğlu’s candidacy during the election period. We all shouted in the election squares, ‘reject this support’. Kılıçdaroğlu did not reject any of these until the May 14 elections. He tried to say something during the second round, but there was such a record there that it made no sense. “When their leader is like this, what the MP says ceases to be a singular thing.”
