Young international midfielder Gavi was injured during Spain’s victory against Georgia on Sunday. Very bad news for his selection and his club, FC Barcelona.
Gavi, the Spanish international midfielder, suffers from a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, his club, FC Barcelona, announced on Monday, which makes his participation in Euro 2024 football very uncertain.
The 19-year-old player was injured during the victory (3-1) of La Roja against Georgia on Sundayin qualifying for the Euro, and the examinations showed that he was suffering “a complete rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of the right knee and an ociated injury to the external meniscus“, Barça indicated in a press release. The duration of unavailability is not mentioned, but it is generally more than six months, which makes his participation in the Euro in Germany (June 14-July 14) very uncertain.
