Ruud eliminated in the 3rd round of Indian Wells, beaten by Garin

The 4th in the world lost this Sunday by the Chilean and continues to chain disappointing performances.
Casper Ruud, 4th in the world, was eliminated in the 3rd round of the Indian Wells Masters 1000, beaten 6-4, 7-6 (7/2) by Cristian Garin (97th), overflowing with energy, Sunday in California.
This poor performance in the Californian desert confirms the difficulties encountered since the start of the season by Ruud, finalist at Roland-Garros and at the US Open last year.
Garin forces the tiebreaker decision
The 24-year-old Norwegian, who had also been eliminated early in the second round of the Australian Open, by the American Jenson Brooksby, suffered the incessant assaults of Garin, author of more than twice the number of winners than him ( 39 versus 17). The Norwegian’s only burst came in the second set, when he unbroken to come back at 3-3. But in the tiebreak, the Chilean again accelerated the pace to win in two hours.
“The way I played makes me very happy. I was aggressive the whole game, even in the second set when I was leading 3-1, I lost those games, but I kept playing that waycommented Garin on the court. “I tried to come up to the net a lot. When I attack, I think I play very well, I take my opponent by surprise“, he added. In the round of 16, the 26-year-old Chilean will face Russian Karen Khachanov (15th) or Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich (28th).
