German Chancellor Olaf Scholz reportedly spoke by phone with US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
Government Spokesperson Steffen Hebestreit said in a written statement that the leaders discussed the security situation in Ukraine and support for Ukraine’s fight against Russian aggression.
Hebestreit also emphasized that the leaders agreed to continue military support to Ukraine in Euro-Atlantic coordination.

Stating that they will continue to support Ukraine, Scholz said in a statement after meeting with Icelandic Prime Minister Katrin Jakobsdottir, pointing out that they also supplied this country with weapons such as air defense systems and multi-barreled rocket launchers, in addition to tanks.
Asked about how much it would cost and who would undertake it after the decision to supply Ukraine with Leopard tanks, Scholz said, “I can’t tell you the exact cost here now. But we will bear that (cost) ourselves.” gave the answer.
Scholz noted that they allocate effective defense vehicles such as battle tanks to Ukraine in close cooperation with other countries, taking responsibility for issues such as training, ammunition and repair. (AA)
