Seab and bluefish increased by 200 percent


Fish prices have increased over the counter this year. While the price per kilogram of anchovy decreased compared to last year, the price increase of sea b and bluefish reached 200 percent and that of mackerel reached 400 percent.

However, fish also appeared on the counters at a higher price. Sea b and bluefish increased by 200 percent compared to last year. The expected increase in prices due to the exorbitant increases in diesel prices was also reflected in market and stall prices. Fish prices have doubled compared to the same period in 2022. Low-income people who tried to get the protein they couldn’t get from meat from fish were also disappointed during the fish season. The abundance of anchovies in the sea this year made low-income citizens happy. While the price per kilogram of anchovy in fish form was 58 liras and 33 kurus last year, it decreased to 45 liras and 83 kurus this year. However, the price per kilogram of anchovy in fish stalls varies between 70-80 lira.

MAckerel INCREASED BY 400 PERCENT

While the price of horse mackerel remained the same in fish markets, the price per kilogram of yellowfin, which was 75 lira last year, increased by 100 percent to 150 lira. According to the market prices of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality dated September 7, the price per kilogram of sea bream increased by 50 percent compared to 2022, reaching 300 lira from 200 lira. While sea b reached 900 lira from 300 lira with an increase of 200 percent, bluefish increased from 150 lira to 450 lira with the same increase rate. The increase in the price per kilogram of garfish reached 300 percent. The price per kilogram of garfish, which was 25 lira last year, increased to 100 lira. The price per kilogram of mackerel increased by 400 percent, from 30 lira to 150 lira. The price of turbot increased by 55.55 percent, from 450 lira to 700 lira. Prices increase even more when they go to the counter.

Sea b in Istanbul is 250 lira

Istanbul There is no price information for last year in the Fish Market. However, yesterday mullet was sold for 100 TL, sea b for 250 TL and horse mackerel for 80 TL. The price per kilogram of sea bream was 125 lira. While the price per kilogram of bonito, which is frequently preferred by low-income citizens, varies between 44 lira and 56 lira, the price per kilogram of turbot fish is up to 600 lira. The price per kilogram on the counter is 60 lira.
