Shoigu listened to the reports of the group commanders on the situation in the NVO zone


Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu held a meeting with the commanders of the special military operation groups and listened to their reports on the situation in the NVO zone, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry reports.
“The Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, as part of his work at the headquarters of the joint group of Russian troops (forces), heard reports from the commanders of the groups on the current situation in the areas of responsibility and plans for further actions,” the report says.
The head of the defense department, as noted, touched upon the topic of the security of deploying personnel in the field, the organization of comprehensive support for the troops, and also drew attention to the work of medical and rear units.
Earlier, Shoigu heard his deputies on the organization of the continuous supply of troops with weapons, military equipment and ammunition. As the press service of the Ministry of Defense reported on Saturday, the minister inspected the Russian grouping of troops “Vostok” in the zone of the special operation and presented the servicemen with state awards – the Order of Courage, insignia “St. George’s Cross” and medals “For Courage”.
Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. During the special operation at the end of September, the LPR, DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions became part of Russia. Later, martial law was introduced on the territory of these regions.
