After Remco Evenepoel, four other riders from the Belgian team infected with Covid are now leaving the race

After the premature departure of its leader Evenepoel affected by the Covid, the Soudal Quick Step is further reduced. A few hours before the start of the 11th stage of the Giro between Camaiore and Tortona, the Soudal Quick-Step announces the abandonment of 4 other runners, all positive for Covid.

So, Jan Hirt, Josef Cerny, Louis Vervaeke and Matteo Cattaneo will not start the longest stage of this Tour of Italy. This is already the 5th case of Covid for the Belgian team, which has continued to test its riders after Remco Evenepoel.

Two other positive cases were also reported on Wednesday by the AG2R-Citroën and Corratec teams, respectively the Italians Andrea Vendrame and Stefano Gandin.

A total of 15 Covid-positive riders have given up since the start of the Giro.
