The MHR scrum-half returned to training this week and could apply for the match against Clermont on Saturday.

Scrum half Cobus Reinach, double world champion with South Africa, reappeared at Montpellier training at the start of the week and is applying for a place in the Hérault team which will face Clermont on Saturday during the 6th day of Top 14.

The day after the Springboks’ victory against the All Blacks (12-11), Reinach (33) returned to his native country to celebrate their fourth world title, the second in a row. Faf De Klerk’s understudy started four times during the last World Cup, and notably during the victorious quarter-final against France (29-28).

Reinach, under contract until June 2025, could participate in his first Top 14 match of the season, young Léo Coly being unavailable after suffering a double concussion against Racing 92 (19-16) on October 29.

The return of the efficient South African scrum-half is all the more anticipated as Montpellier, led this season by English manager Richard erill, occupies 13th place in the championship.
