Cape Canaveral. SpaceX’s private rocket took off for the International Space Station on Sunday. Saudi Arabia’s astronaut Rayyana Barnawi is also aboard the rocket. She is the first astronaut from Saudi Arabia to fly to space after decades. Also aboard the rocket is John Schnaufer, a Tennessee-based businessman who started his own sports car ‘racing’ team.
The astronauts are being led by retired NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson, who currently works for the company managing the 10-day trip. The Falcon rocket took off from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center on Sunday afternoon carrying these pengers.
