Luis Enrique, the Spanish coach, had chosen to start Ansu Fati, the Barcelona nugget, for La Roja’s last match before the World Cup, this Thursday against Jordan in Amman. The young man (20) gave it back to him, since he scored the first goal of the match, won by Spain (3-1) thanks to goals from Fati (13th), therefore, Gavi (56th ) and Nico Williams (84th). Jordan reduced the gap at the end of the match, by Al-Dardour (90 + 2nd), following a defensive error by Cesar Azpilicueta.
The Spaniards, in addition to having quickly taken the lead in the game, as usual monopolized the ball (74% possession). Logically, less than a week before La Roja’s first match at the World Cup, Luis Enrique has rotated his squad a lot since 8 of the 11 starters have been replaced.
Spain will face Costa Rica (November 23, 5 p.m.) in their World Cup debut. It will then face Germany and Japan in Group E.
