A good surprise for retirees in the private sector. According to information from the “Parisien”, on November 1, the value of the point of supplementary pensions of retirement paid by the Agirc-Arrco will be upgraded.
The increase would be between 4.9% and 5.2% according to the projection sent to the newspaper. The announcement of the final figure will however fall on October 6th.
“This increase cannot exceed 5.2%. Otherwise we would come up against the rule that pensions should not evolve faster than wages, "says the" Parisian "an administrator of the pension fund who remained anonymous.
Additional 4.2 billion in the fund's budget
The payment of Agirc-Arrco pensions represents an annual amount of 84 billion euros. An increase of 1% in the value of the point is equivalent to the payment of 840 million additional per year for the funds of the plan. A revaluation of around 5% would therefore represent an additional budget of 4.2 billion.
The government seems to have taken the lead in view of the current inflation. In mid-July, the pensions of the basic scheme (Cnav) had already been increased in advance by 4%. A promise made by Emmanuel Macron during the presidential campaign, then engraved in stone by the purchasing power bill. “One thing is certain, we will do better than the state. But we take the time to find a compromise”, confides to the “Parisian” the administrator questioned.
Discussions are continuing between employers' organizations and trade unions within the framework of the office and the board of directors of Agirc-Arrco. Several unions are aiming for the top of the range. But the room for negotiation remains narrow.
