Cengiz Yigen was stunned when he learned that there was another person’s voter registration in his house on Akın Sokak, in the Hacıfeyzullah District, where he lived for 13 years in Aydın Kuşadası.
Yigen, who received a voter information sheet belonging to a person he did not know, for the Presidential second round elections to be held on May 28, said that he had not experienced a similar event before the May 14 elections.
Evaluating the possibility that the name on the information sheet might be their neighbor, Yigen learned in his research that no one knew the person in question.
OBJECTION NOT ACCEPTED
Cengiz Yigen, suspecting that false voter registration was made, applied to the District Election Board. Yigen’s application, who wanted to petition for the cancellation of voter registration, was not accepted because the objection period had expired.
Yigen said, “I have been living in the same house with my wife and son for 13 years. We know everyone who lives near our house. We did not encounter such a situation in the first round. However, in the second round, a person who does not even live in our neighborhood, let alone the street where our house is located, was registered as a voter in my address. I think it was fake voter registration. I will follow up until the end so that those responsible for this will be held accountable. “No one has the right to harm democracy in this way,” he said.
