Leader in payment cards and main partner of banks in the world, Thales is innovating with the launch of a bank card (CB) that speaks… Or rather that whispers in the ear of its owners, to describe each step of a transaction. , with indication of the amount to be validated. This, after having installed an application, connected to their credit card, on their mobile phone. They will then be able to hear their CB, via the loudspeaker of their telephone or via earphones.

Drawing on its know-how and technologies developed for secure payments, Thales Digital and Secure Identity (DIS), a spin-off from the former Gemalto, has designed “an inclusive solution, aimed at protecting visually impaired people from fraud or errors made when paying for a purchase“. 90% of these populations – 1.7 million French people have a vision disorder and more than 61,000 are blind – have already been victims, due to a means of payment unsuited to their disability. With the “Voice Payment Card”, the CB that speaks, users will benefit from “of a safe and autonomous payment experience during their daily purchases”.

This unique payment method in the world was developed in partnership with the French start-up Handsome, which specializes in inclusive solutions for people with disabilities. And the CB able to speak, soon marketed by several banks, was certified by the Visa and Mastercard networks.
