The 2023 edition of the Brive Book Fair records record turnover

A successful 41st edition. There Brive-la-Gaillarde Book Fair, a major annual literary event, has distinguished itself once again. Chaired by Florence Aubenas, the Corrèze event welcomed no less than 400 authors in 2023, including the new Goncourt Jean-Bapte Andreathe much courted Panayotis Pascot or the last representative of the School of Brive Christian Signol. And despite the gloomy weather, business was very good. According to our information, the turnover for the 41st edition of the Brive-La-Gaillarde Book Fair stands at 970,000 euros. A result – revealed in preview by Le Figaro – 14% higher than the previous record established in 2021, namely 850,000 euros. In five years, the largest literary fair in France in terms of books sold (60,000 in 2021) has seen its turnover jump by 38%. Proof, if any were needed, that in the land of fat, gray matter has its place.
