The Blues in the Vancouver Sevens Series final after their victory over Australia

In contrast to his female counterpart, the French rugby sevens team has qualified for the final of the Vancouver leg of the Sevens Series. By dominating Australia (26-12), the Blues reached their first final in three years.
The Australians had however stung first through Darby Lancaster by dismissing wide after four minutes of play. The Blues responded with Théo Forner one minute from half-time then Jean-Pascal Barraque gave the advantage to France by flattening between the poles 12 seconds after the siren (12-5).
Forner sees double
Quickly in the second half, Théo Forner scored twice by scoring his seventh try in the tournament. France took a 14-point lead (19-5) before Josh Turner surprised the defensive replacement of the Blues by quickly playing a penalty. In the last minute Jonathan Laugel completed a superb counter after a breakthrough from William Iraguha who had just returned. The score will not move in this meeting and France is only one game away from the title.
At 3:26 a.m. on the night of Sunday to Monday, the Blues will face the Argentinians, who defeated the Irish in the other semi-final (14-7).
