The 2024 edition of the Mont Ventoux race will not take place, leaving room for the Olympic flame which will p to the summit in June.
The 2024 edition of the CIC Mont Ventoux will not take place due to the page of the Olympic flame, the organizers of the cycling race announced Thursday.
“The CIC Mont Ventoux will not take place in 2024. We are ping the baton to the Olympic flame which will cross Vaucluse and climb to the summit of Mont Ventoux in June”the organization said in a message posted on X (formerly Twitter).
The 2023 edition, the fifth of this one-day race for climbers, the finish of which is judged at the summit of the Géant de Provence, was won by the young French hopeful Lenny Martinez (Groupama-FDJ), then aged 19, on June 13.
