The court released on parole the former general director of Voentelekom Alexander Davydov

The Babushkinsky District Court of Moscow released ahead of schedule those convicted of embezzlement of 1.4 billion rubles. funds of the Russian Ministry of Defense of the former General Director of Voentelecom JSC Alexander Davydov and his adviser Dmitry Semiletov, TASS reported with reference to the press service of the court.
The court also said that the prosecutor’s office was against their release, and the department appealed against the decision on parole in relation to Davydov. At the same time, the prosecutor’s office did not appeal against the release of Semiletov, and the decision on parole has already entered into force.
The criminal case was initiated based on the results of an audit by the Chief Military Prosecutor’s Office. According to the investigation, Davydov, Semiletov, as well as the first deputy general director of Voentelecom, Oleg Savitsky, and the general director of the contracting company RCAI, Tatyana Ilyina, when concluding contracts with the Russian Ministry of Defense for the supply of radio equipment and exercising architectural supervision of satellite communications, used schemes to overestimate the cost of products . The damage was estimated at 1.4 billion rubles. Davydov was detained at the end of December 2017 and later sentenced to four years and two months in prison, Semiletov to four years. In addition, the court ordered them to pay fines in the amount of 800,000 rubles.
In February 2022, the court also sentenced him to 4.5 years in prison and a fine of 800,000 rubles. the former head of the communications planning department of the Main Communications Directorate (GUS) of the Ministry of Defense, Major General Alexander Ogloblin. The investigation and the court established that Ogloblin, together with the former head of the Main Directorate of Communications of the Armed Forces – Deputy Chief of the General Staff Khalil Arslanov and other accomplices, “signed state contracts on behalf of the Ministry of Defense with Voentelekom for the supply of equipment for ground satellite communication stations and control monitoring centers network at a higher cost. As a result, during the execution of contracts, they stole 1.6 billion rubles, ”the UK noted.
Arslanov is charged with embezzlement in the supply of more than 60,000 Azarts at inflated prices, the damage to the Ministry of Defense was estimated at 6.5 billion rubles.
