The director of the school in which a 3-year-old girl who died in the night from Saturday to Sunday, after alleged violence by her mother and stepfather, was educated has been suspended “as a precautionary measure”announced Tuesday September 26 the rectorate.
“The rectorate of the Normandy academy has decided to suspend the director of the nursery school as a precautionary measure and to launch an administrative investigation in order to shed light on the chain of reporting of the facts by the national education services”indicates the rectorate in a press release.
According to the public prosecutor of Évreux, Rémi Coutin, the little girl, whose mother and stepfather were indicted for murder of a minor and placed in pre-trial detention, “was absent from school the entire week preceding the incident”.
Emergency services were alerted during the night from Saturday to Sunday by the parents of the little girl, who died after her arrival at Rouen University Hospital at 1:53 a.m. She had multiple bruises from different times on her “the face, the four limbs, the thorax, the back”.

“The investigating judge will question the fact that the situation of this little girl, victim of regular violence, was not reported. Neither the public prosecutor’s office, nor the gendarmerie, nor the child welfare services had been informed.specified Mr. Coutin.
The older brother, aged 6, was present on the evening of the incident and also suffered violence. He was handed over to child welfare services.
The rectorate specified that a psychological listening unit was made available to students and adults at the Conches-en-Ouche nursery school (Eure), where the little girl was educated in the middle section. “Faced with this terrible tragedy, rector Christine Gavini expresses her great emotion and expresses her immense sadness”added the rectorate.
