the internal unit of EELV dedicated to sexist and sexual violence “closes the file”, for lack of having been able “to carry out its investigation”

The party deplores a “satisfactory situation for no one”. The EELV unit dedicated to sexist and sexual violence (CVSS) has “decided to close the file” Julien Bayou, accused by an ex-companion of psychological violence, for lack of being able “complete its investigation”the Green Party announced in a statement on Wednesday.
“The conditions for the application of the protocol could not be found and the initial hearing, the starting point of the investigation, could not take place”, justifies EELV, stating that “no one else entered the cell about Julien Bayou”. “Unable to carry out its investigation, the Unit has decided to close this file”, notes the party in its press release.
The CVSS self-seized in July 2022, after obtaining an email from Mr. Bayou’s ex-companion implicating him. To guarantee the serenity of its work, the structure had assumed its silence, and nothing, or almost, had filtered since.
Last September, the deputy had to withdraw from his posts as national secretary of EELV and co-president of the group of environmental deputies for the time of this internal instruction.
“We regret the difficult human consequences that this procedure and its media exposure may have had”the statement concludes.
