The list of this year’s finalists for the Nike Literary Award has been announced. This is the 27th edition of this competition, the winner will be announced on October 1.
Among the finalists of the 27th edition of the Nike Literary Award were the novels “Ping the threshold, I will whistle” by Wiktoria Bieżuńska (published by Cyranka), “Trash story” by Mateusz Górniak (Korporacja Ha!art.) and “He laughs who has teeth” by Zyta Rudzka (published by WAB), reportage books: “Price. In search of Jewish children after the war” by Anna Bikont (published by Czarne), “Gdynia promised. City, modernism, modernization 1920-1939” by Grzegorz Piątek (published by WAB), “Migot. “From the End of Greenland” by Ilona Wiśniewska (published by Czarne) and the volume of poems “Lata practice” by Piotr Sommer (published by WBPCiAK).
The “Nike” Literary Award has been awarded since 1997 for the best book of the previous year. Titles representing all literary genres can participate in the competition. Nike cannot be awarded posthumously, nor can it be divided or withheld. The jury selects the winner on the day of the award ceremony, always on the first Sunday in October. The winner receives 100,000. PLN and a statuette.
The results will be announced on October 1 this year. during an official gala in the building of the University Library in Warsaw. The founders of the award are “Gazeta Wyborcza” and the Agora Foundation. (PAP)
