PORTRAIT – The Girondin author occupies first and third place on the best-selling podium.

30,000 copies sold in just four days. From the first hours of its release on May 3, French readers, for many readers, flocked to the latest novel by Virginia Grimaldi, A beautiful life (Flammarion).

“This is one of the strongest starts of this year 2023”, rejoices its editor, Pauline Faure. The publishing house, a subsidiary of Gallimard, did not hesitate to bet on the success of the book, with a first print run of 180,000 copies.

A beautiful lifewhich recounts the reunion of two sisters in the house of their late grandmother, is thus propelled to the top of the best sellers in France, by dethroning volume 104 of the manga One Piece, according to the GfK institute.
