Marc Fesneau announced the main orientations of the support plan for organic farming. EMMANUEL DUNAND
A few hours after promising new aid to save this sector in crisis, Marc Fesneau has just announced the release of an exceptional fund.
Visiting a dairy farm in Oise this Wednesday, the Minister of Agriculture Marc Fesneau has just announced a “crisis envelopeof 60 million euros, which comes on top of the emergency aid of 10 million euros announced at the Salon de l’Agriculture, to help organic farmers who are going through an unprecedented period of difficulty with supply exceeding demand.
To stimulate purchases, the Minister has undertaken to ensure that canteens under the responsibility of the State – in ministries, prisons or armies – will reach the objective of 20% organic in their menus by end of the year: “we’ll start by setting the example ourselves“, he said from a farm in the Oise.
