The penalty requested in the murder of Pınar Damar has been determined
A lawsuit was filed in the murder of Pınar Damar, whose body was found in a bush area in Bağcılar. In the indictment of the case, the accused Metin A., who is his cousin’s religious wife, was sentenced to two aggravated life sentences and 5 years in prison on charges of ‘Deliberately killing a woman’, ‘Deprivation of Liberty by Using Force’, ‘Qualified Sexual Assault’.
Pınar Damar (32), who was filed missing by her family on July 18 last year in Küçükçekmece, was found murdered in a bush area in Bağcılar the next day.
In the investigation initiated by the Homicide Bureau, the suspect of the incident, his cousin’s husband, Metin A., was detained while waiting in front of the Forensic Medicine Institute with other family members.
Metin A., the wife of Pınar Damar’s cousin, was transferred to Bakırköy Palace of Justice after his procedures at the police station, and was arrested by the criminal judge of peace on duty, where he was charged with ‘qualified willful killing’.
In the indictment prepared by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, it was determined that the accused Metin A. had sexually assaulted Pınar Damar before he killed him.
It was demanded that Metin A. be sentenced to two aggravated life sentences and 5 years in prison for the crimes of ‘deliberate killing against a woman’, ‘Deprivation of Liberty by Using Force’ and ‘Qualified Sexual Assault’. The trial will begin in June.

Making a statement regarding the indictment, Attorney Esin Yeşilırmak stated that Metin A. followed Pınar Damar all day long and said:
*There are missing parts in the indictment. There are sentences written from the mouth of the accused. One of them is ‘I went there by seeing the social media post’.
*Actually, when the witnesses were heard, it is seen that he followed Pınar all day. In our opinion, it is a murder he committed by planning and design.
*He followed step by step leaving the workplace, going to the gas station. All of them are caught on camera. It will come out with the evidence.
*The defendant made the defense that is said in all femicides; She said, ‘He talked about my masculinity, provoked it, and it happened all of a sudden’. This is a defense that we know and hear a lot.
*This is now a memorized defense to get rid of the crime and get a reduced sentence. No unfair provocation reduction is requested in the indictment.
*Penalties were requested without discount. We will demand that he be punished without discount in court.
“SEXUAL ATTACK BEFORE KILLING”
* An act of sexual assault also took place before the killing. The accused never admitted this. He did not make any defense regarding this.
* From the forensic reports and parts of the indictment, we see that he was killed in the act of sexual assault. We want the details of murder by design to be investigated.
