“Wild Hordes” of “harmful”, “dog” suffered ” for decades “… Reports denouncing to the courts the press release from the police unions Alliance and UNSA-Police calling ” in combat “ against “the pests” during the riots after the death of Nahel M. were dismissed, the Paris prosecutor’s office communicated to Agence France-Presse (AFP), Monday September 11.
“The offense of provocation to arm against the authority of the State or the population, which was most likely to apply, was however not sufficiently characterizedadded the prosecution, which filed these reports on July 17. It appeared, in fact, that the polemical remarks appearing in this leaflet were not explicit enough, nor directed against [des personnes identifiées]to constitute an offense ».
Saying ” in war “Alliance, the majority union of peace guards, and UNSA-Police called in the press release released at the end of June to “fight” against the “harmful” and the “wild hordes” involved, according to these unions, in the nighttime riots after the death of Nahel M. The 17-year-old was killed by a police officer during a road check on June 27 in Nanterre. “Tomorrow we will be in resistance and the government must realize this”had warned Alliance and UNSA-Police.
Words that represent “a threat of sedition”
Several left-wing leaders, including the leader of La France insoumise (LFI), Jean-Luc Mélenchon, and Marine Tondelier, national secretary of Europe Ecologie-Les Verts, denounced these comments, believing that they represented a “threat of sedition” and one “call for civil war”.
The LFI deputy Ugo Bernalicis had, on behalf of the LFI group, contacted the Paris public prosecutor under article 40 of the code of criminal procedurepointing to the offense of provocation “to arm oneself against the authority of the State or against a part of the population”.
In a press release released FridayMP Frédéric Mathieu (LFI) considers “ill-founded” the decision of the prosecution because “it is obvious that the incriminated remarks intend to lead the police into a seditious dynamic towards institutions and violence towards a part of our fellow citizens”. He regrets that the prosecution “dismisses all rational legal analysis to commit itself to a minimum political service” and wonders “on the joint responsibility of the Keeper of the Seals and the Minister of the Interior in this decision”.
