The road was split in the Kireçlik locality of the Ihlara road due to the flood waters that started in the evening and occurred after the effective downpour in the city.
One car, which was flooded on the split road, was able to stop after being dragged for about 20 meters. Meanwhile, other vehicles ping by were saved from flooding at the last moment.
13 PEOPLE WALKED TO HOSPITAL
Upon the notice, AFAD, UMKE, firefighter, police and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the region. While the road was closed to transportation, 13 people in the vehicles that survived the flood at the last moment were taken to the hospital by ambulances for precautionary purposes.
WORK STARTED FOR THE STRAINED
Work continues to rescue those trapped in the vehicle, which was flooded and dragged on the split road.
Yasin İn, who survived the flood, said, “While we were driving with my wife and children, it suddenly started to rain. I stopped because it came across right near the gas station. I went with my wife and kids. For a short time, the vehicle was flooded. Good thing we got out of the vehicle. Otherwise, he would have taken us with the vehicle,” he said. (DHA)
