The State Duma adopted a law on the forced movement of citizens from regions where martial law (VP) has been introduced. This follows from the Duma electronic database.
According to the law that amends, Art. 7 on the measures applied in the territories with the EaP, forced and controlled displacement from the territories will be carried out according to presidential decrees.
In addition, the adopted amendments will allow for administrative detentions for up to 30 days for violations of prohibitions and restrictions established by presidential decrees.
Changes were also made to the procedure for holding elections in areas with the EaP regime – if earlier they could not be held, now the decision to hold them can be made by the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation following consultations with the Ministry of Defense and the FSB.
Initially, the bill in the first reading was only concerned with replacing the title of “member of the Federation Council” with “senator” in the law on the EaP.
Vedomosti wrote about plans to amend the law on martial law that would allow elections to be held even if martial law is in effect in the region at the end of April. Then Pavel Krasheninnikov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on State Construction, announced this.
