“The union of the rights is the only way out”


GRANDSTAND – The former presidential candidate is convinced that LR has no future outside of a rapprochement with his “Reconquest” party and the RN. Here are his arguments.

A year ago, a rumor ran: I want to run for the LR primary… Crisis meetings are organized at LR while columnists parade on television to predict my “serious chance of victory in view of the zemmourized base of LR”. Terrified, the leaders of this party add a clause to their statutes to deny me access. Smart, Éric Ciotti takes my words word for word and wins his place in the second round of the primary, announcing that he would vote for me against Macron. He will admit it to me laughing on the phone: “I ran my entire campaign on your name!”

A year later, the same Ciotti, to redeem a virtue, howls with the wolves of the left against me, then against the RN deputy, Mr. de Fournas. Far be it from me to overwhelm poor Ciotti. He is not the only one: it is LR’s destiny to submit to centrism. It is even its DNA, since Chirac founded it to make the alliance “from the right and from the center”. This alliance condemns LR to give pledges…
