TikTok dreams of itself as the new king of e-commerce


The Chinese application has just launched its “Shop” tab on the American market.

In the aisles of the French restaurant Cathédrale in the heart of the very trendy East Village district, New York fashionistas and models took a break in front of the teams’ lenses TikTok marketing. On the occasion of Fashion Weekthe Chinese application with 150 million active users in the United States inaugurated the launch of its new “Shop” tab in the country on Monday evening.

After having devoured the attention time of young people and having established itself as master of new clothing, cultural or culinary trends, TikTok today dreams of itself as a new giant of e-commerce. “We have a very aggressive plan to make a splash in the industry and make sure that citizens understand that TikTok is now the place to shop,” explained Monday evening in a blog post by one of the firm’s executives.
